If you have recently searched for ‘food bank volunteering near me’, then we need you. Eradicating Food Insecurity
We have one overriding ethos at Charity Meals - we believe that no one should have to suffer from hunger, dehydration, starvation, or malnutrition.
Our principal goal is to eradicate food insecurity and ensure that everyone has access to the most basic of necessities, whatever their current circumstances.
As we grow as an organisation, we have many opportunities for volunteer jobs throughout our UK hubs, as well as in countries where we work in Africa, the Far East and the Middle East.
What is Food Poverty?
Food poverty is fundamentally not having access to sufficient food for your needs. It also relates to the quality of the food, which can lead to a lack of adequate nutrients and resulting malnutrition.
As a food volunteer, you will experience directly what food poverty is like and how it affects those living in local communities. You will work with the children whose education is being affected by their inability to concentrate due to lack of food. You will visit the elderly who are slowly disappearing due to their lack of good food and good company.
Your input as a Charity Meals food volunteer will be a lifeline for thousands of people across the UK and beyond.
