Sustainable Water Solutions
Currently, around 2 billion people worldwide are without access to safely managed drinking water, and 3.6 billion people lack access to safely managed sanitation.
Access to clean drinking water is not just about survival. Water is the foundation for all sorts of everyday tasks like bathing, cleaning, farming, and cooking. Often the solution is a simple one - it just needs the time and commitment of a water pump charity to fund and oversee the necessary water supply infrastructural changes, which can make a massive difference to so many communities.
Charity Meals recognises the importance of access to clean and safe drinking water. As a UK-based water purification charity, we seek to implement sustainable solutions to communities, including the construction of hand pumps, water wells, and water purification systems.
Allah says in the Qur’an, ‘By means of water, we give life to everything’. (Qur’an, 21:30)
Effective Water Infrastructure
Our water purification team works with local partners and volunteers to identify communities that lack access to clean water.
We then design and implement a customised solution to meet their specific needs. This includes conducting water quality tests, designing and building water infrastructure, and providing education and training on water management and hygiene practices.
Our clean water initiatives not only improve the health and well-being of communities but also have a ripple effect on other areas of development, which is why it is one of the best charities to donate money to.
Access to clean water reduces the incidence of waterborne diseases, such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid, which in turn reduces healthcare costs and allows individuals to work and attend school, ultimately contributing to economic development.
In addition to providing clean water and sanitation facilities, we also provide education and training to communities on water management, sanitation practices, and hygiene promotion.
