Haleema’s story
Haleema, a widow with five children, struggled for years to provide safe water. Living in a remote village in Bihar, her family relied on a dirty lake, boiling it just to survive. The two community wells were unreliable, and she often had to beg neighbours for access. Her children frequently fell ill from contaminated water. Today, thanks to a generous donor, Haleema has her own well. “Now my family can drink clean water, and I don’t have to rely on anyone,” she says, overjoyed and relieved.
“As a volunteer– When you see the difference clean water makes, you understand why this work matters because for poor and needy families it brings health, dignity, and hope for a better future.”
